Our client looking for a project manager. The role is based in Melrose but is hybrid.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of the power build process, including coordinating power infrastructure development, as well as effectively managing contractors and subcontractors.
The Role
Core responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
- Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, clearly defining objectives, tasks, timelines and resource needs
- Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders to align project goals, expectations and deliverables
- Create strategic project plans, outlining phases, milestones, tasks and critical path analysis
- Utilise effective planning methodologies to optimise resource allocation, reduce risks and improve execution efficiency
- Work closely with engineering, procurement and technical teams to ensure seamless integration across all project functions
- Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams, fostering collaboration and accountability
- Assign team roles, set performance expectations and provide ongoing support throughout the project lifecycle
- Facilitate communication and knowledge sharing within the team to enhance coordination and problem-solving
- Identify project risks and develop proactive mitigation strategies to minimise impact
- Monitor project performance, assess risks and implement corrective measures to ensure success
- Maintain thorough documentation of risk assessments, mitigation plans and lessons learned
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or similar
- PMP or other relevant project management certification is beneficial
- At least five years’ proven experience as a project manager
- Must have in-depth expertise in power systems, electrical component and renewable energy, including solar power
- Lead full project lifecycle management from initiation to closure for power projects
