Our client is looking for a creative and talented junior to middle-weight designer to join their off-the-wall team. If you are motivated, dynamic, can work in a team and solo and willing to learn, we’re looking for you! 

You must have strong design skills and a good understanding on backend structures.

The Role

Core responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

• Design and develop responsive websites as required by clients 
• Design website mock-ups using relevant design tools
• Conceptualising new designs that are functional and user-friendly
• Constantly improve UX through design
• Code for the creation of new websites and maintenance of existing websites 
• Propose website solutions as required
• Work with the development team for quality control and coding guidelines 
• Consult with clients to ensure understanding of brief/product requirements
• Design imagery for websites and ensure that they are in line with client requirements  

Qualifications and Experience 

• Minimum three years’ relevant experience
• Relevant degree or diploma
• Portfolio demonstrating website design and mobile design 
• Mobile UX/UI experience – responsive design/websites 
• Firm grasp of current trends and best practices for the web and mobile world and understanding of technology used in designing interactively
• Solid knowledge of web standards, cross-browser compatibility and accessibility
• Excellent knowledge and experience working with Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, In-Design, HTML/HTML5, JavaScript, JQuery, CSS/CSS3
• Ability to work alongside the development team to integrate application code into websites and/or web applications

Note

• The role is based in Woodmead, Johannesburg, but travel to clients will be expected
